DFSR – your partner in Germany
Over 30 years of experience
DFSR is one of the most well known cultural exchange organizations in Germany. Since 1978, we have given hundreds of young people the possibility to discover new countries and cultures. Every year, we send German students on High School, Language and Work Experience programs and welcome foreign students from all over the world to stay in Germany for an academic year or a short term home stay.
DFSR believes in contributing to international understanding by encouraging integration into the local community. Our facility is a beautiful half-timbered house in the old part of the town. During language and orientation courses Students will be staying within walking distance of all facilities and public transport. We encourage contact between the community and our students by organizing cultural events and assisting our students to participate in outside activities.
In the heart of Germany
Superbly located in the heart of Germany, DFSR in Heppenheim is the ideal place to learn the language that opens so many doors. The “Bergstrasse” area is so named for the gently sloping line of hills which runs through it, separating the Odenwald forest in the East and the vast open plateaus in the West. Heppenheim itself is a charming market town, full of twisting alleyways, half-timbered houses and cobbled streets. From our building, you have a lovely view of the vineyards, the 900 year old Starkenburg Castle and the cathedral.
Heppenheim is accustomed to receiving visitors as it hosts the famous wine and theatre festivals in summer. Visitors from the past include Goethe and Martin Buber, whose house has become the world headquarters of the International Council of Jews and Christians.
Frankfurt, Mannheim and Heidelberg can each be reached easily within one hour, allowing you to choose from an afternoon in a bustling modern city or surrounded by historic buildings and quaint restaurants.
Quality assurance
DFSR is a member of the DFH (recognized association for exchange organizations), the WYSTC (The World Youth Student and Educational Travel Confederation) and of CSIET (Council on Standards for International Travel Confederation). Through these memberships we are constantly bound to adhere to the highest standards of cultural youth exchange.
